We are looking for a textile artist to work with us on a national project, 'Our Freedom: Then and Now'. The project involves the delivery of 10 community-focused workshops at The Point, in schools and in care settings in Eastleigh to inform the creation of a series of flags and banners to mark the 80th anniversary VE Day, culminating in a celebration event in November (date TBC).
The artist will be responsible for planning and leading workshops in collaboration with The Point's Creative Practitioner and in line with the objectives of the project. They will also be responsible for the creation of the final art works (flags and banners).
Delivery of the project will be between Sept and Nov with planning time in the lead up to this. Project management support will be provided by The Point.
Applicants must have experience of working on community-engaged arts projects and ideally experience of working in schools and / or care settings. They must also make work of an exceptional standard.
