HYDC to Perform on the Main Stage at Sadler’s Wells, London

We're thrilled to announce that one of our in-house youth dance companies, Hampshire Youth Dance Company (HYDC) has been selected to perform on the prestigious Sadler’s Wells main stage as part of the Making Moves National Platform on 9th July. This honour follows their participation in the Making Moves project earlier this year, where they stood out among 48 groups from across England.

Making Moves is an innovative choreography and performance initiative that engages school and youth groups to showcase their dance talents. Over the past year, these groups utilised digital choreographic toolkits crafted by renowned choreographers Alesandra Seutin, Dannielle “Rhimes” Lecointe, Jordan Douglas, and Oona Doherty. Each group created their own choreographic pieces based on these toolkits which were presented at regional showcases.

Nine exceptional groups from the 48 have now been chosen to perform at the Making Moves National Platform. HYDC, alongside 28 Dance Company, Obsidian, Curve Young Dance Company, Langley Park School for Boys, Ceyda Tanc Youth Dance, Stockport Grammar School, Barbara Priestman Academy, and Stacked Wonky, will bring their unique choreographic creations to life on one of the world’s most iconic stages.

“This project has been one of HYDC’s biggest choreographic challenges and journeys to date. We are so proud of all that our dancers have given to this project and experience and we can’t wait to see them shine on that stage,” said Tory East, HYDC Rehearsal Director.

Join us on 9th July at Sadler’s Wells to witness the extraordinary talent and creativity of England’s next generation of dancers and choreographers. This event promises to be an inspiring display of youthful energy and artistic innovation.
