Whipped Up!
Produced by Watford Palace Theatre. Created by Jill Rogati
Whipped Up! follows Dottie, an eager-to-please 50’s-style diner server on their first day on the job – where the baby is the customer, and caregivers are along for the ride.
As the server waits on their “demanding” clientele (imagine babies doing what babies do best – creating adorable chaos!) the server grows increasingly frazzled – and more and more entertaining! Stimulating for tiny audience members with sensory play served up throughout the show, and hilarious for parents/adults watching their loved ones take on roles in an unfolding comedy.
Run-time: 50 minutes (including 20 minutes of playtime on set). No interval
Age suitability: 2 months to 2 years
Tickets: £12 for one baby and an accompanying adult / £7 per additional adult
Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect from the performance?
Whipped Up! is a fun, interactive show where you and your baby will be seated on the set itself. You’ll enjoy live music, gentle sounds, and playful sensory experiences. The show features bubbles at the end, which are safe and non-toxic, but please speak to staff if you have any concerns.
Will there be seating for adults who can’t sit on the floor?
Yes, we provide wipe-able cushions for both babies and adults to sit on, but chairs will also be available for any adults who prefer not to sit on the floor. One caregiver must stay with each baby on the floor.
Can I bring a pushchair or a carrycot?
We will have a designated buggy park for storage outside the performance space. Staff will on hand to assist with this.
What should I do if my baby becomes unsettled during the performance?
If your baby becomes unsettled, please don’t worry. We have quiet areas available, and staff are on hand to guide you to a space where you can soothe your baby. We understand that babies might need breaks or may become distracted, and that’s completely okay! Feel free to move around and care for your baby as needed during the show.
Are there facilities for changing my baby?
There are family and baby changing facilities outside the performance area.
Can I breastfeed during the performance?
Absolutely! You are welcome to breastfeed in the performance space. If you prefer more privacy, please let us know, and we can guide you to a quieter area designated for breastfeeding.
Is the show appropriate for children over 2 years old?
Whipped Up! is specifically created for babies aged 2 months to 2 years, and while older children are welcome to attend, they may not fully engage with the performance in the way it is designed for babies. If you're considering bringing an older child, please keep in mind that they might not find the show as stimulating or entertaining, and we recommend considering their temperament before purchasing tickets.
Can we bring family or friends?
Extended family or friends who wish to join the experience are welcome
to purchase tickets by choosing the additional adult tickets option.
